Rotate the Canvas View in Photoshop (and Reset It)
Rotating the canvas view can make sketching and painting feel more natural, and it’s easy to reset if you rotate by accident. You’ll access the Rotate View Tool from the toolbar or with a shortcut, set precise angles, and snap in increments. Finish by restoring the view to perfectly straight.

Step-by-step instructions
1
Select the Rotate View tool
Long-press the Hand Tool in the toolbar and choose Rotate View Tool.
Or press R to switch to the Rotate View Tool directly.
2
Rotate the canvas to a comfortable angle
Click and drag on the canvas to rotate the view.
Hold Shift while dragging to rotate in fixed increments for easier alignment.
In the Options bar, type an exact Angle value if you need precision.
3
Reset the canvas to straight
Press R at any time to reselect the Rotate View Tool.
In the Options bar, click Reset View to return to 0°, or type 0 in the Angle field.
