Resize an Image in Photoshop Without Losing Quality
This guide shows how to resize images cleanly using Photoshop’s resampling algorithms. You’ll open Image Size, pick percentage-based scaling, select Preserve Details 2.0, and tune noise reduction. Finish by checking your result at 100% zoom.

Step-by-step instructions
Open your image and the Image Size dialog
Drag the image into Photoshop to open it.
Go to Image → Image Size… (Alt+Ctrl+I on Windows / Option+Command+I on macOS).
Choose units and set the new size
Change Dimensions to Percent in the Image Size dialog.
Enter 50% to reduce or 150% to enlarge, as needed.
Pick the best resampling method
Ensure Resample is enabled.
From the Resample menu, choose Preserve Details (enlargement) or Preserve Details 2.0 for improved detail.
Adjust Reduce Noise to around 75% while previewing the image quality.
Apply and verify at 100%
