Build a reusable grid pattern in Photoshop
This quick method lets you design a crisp grid once and reuse it across any document. You’ll draw a simple tile, define it as a pattern, and then apply it at flexible scales using a Pattern Fill layer.

Step-by-step instructions
Create the grid tile document
Go to File → New…
Set Units to Inches, Width: 10 in, Height: 10 in, Resolution: 300 ppi
Set Background Contents: Transparent and click Create
Add center guides
Go to View → Rulers (or press Ctrl+R/Cmd+R)
Drag a vertical guide from the left ruler to the exact center (5 in)
Drag a horizontal guide from the top ruler to the exact center (5 in)
Draw the grid lines
Select the Line Tool (U); set Fill color: Black and Weight to your desired line thickness
Hold Shift and drag a vertical line along the center vertical guide
Hold Shift and drag a horizontal line along the center horizontal guide
Define the grid as a pattern
Go to Edit → Define Pattern…
Name the pattern (e.g., “Center Cross Grid”) and click OK
Apply the grid pattern to any document
Create or open a new document of any size
Go to Layer → New Fill Layer → Pattern… → OK
Open the Pattern picker and select your new grid pattern
