Insert an Image into Another Image in Photoshop
Learn how to bring a new image into your open Photoshop file as a layer. You’ll place the image, resize it to fit using transform handles, and confirm the placement. This is a quick way to composite or add assets to an existing document.

Step-by-step instructions

Open your base document
Open Photoshop and go to File → Open.
Select your base image and click Open.
Alternatively, press Ctrl+O (Windows) or Command+O (Mac).

Place the image into the current file
Go to File → Place Embedded.
Select the image you want to insert and click Place/Open.
Resize using the corner handles to fit as needed.

Commit the placement
Click the checkmark in the options bar to confirm placement.
Reposition with the Move Tool (V) if necessary.
