Step-by-step instructions

Open your base document

  • Open Photoshop and go to File → Open.

  • Select your base image and click Open.

  • Alternatively, press Ctrl+O (Windows) or Command+O (Mac).

Place the image into the current file

  • Go to File → Place Embedded.

  • Select the image you want to insert and click Place/Open.

  • Resize using the corner handles to fit as needed.

Commit the placement

  • Click the checkmark in the options bar to confirm placement.

  • Reposition with the Move Tool (V) if necessary.
