Flip an Image in Photoshop (Canvas, Layer, and Mirror Effect)
Photoshop lets you flip an entire canvas for quick left-right or top-bottom reversals, or flip individual layers for more control. You can also create a mirror image effect by masking a flipped layer. Follow these steps to apply each method.

Step-by-step instructions
Open your image
Drag and drop your image into Photoshop or go to File → Open and select your file.
Open the Layers panel: Window → Layers.
Flip the entire canvas
Go to Image → Image Rotation → Flip Canvas Horizontal to flip left-to-right.
Or go to Image → Image Rotation → Flip Canvas Vertical to flip top-to-bottom.
Press Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Command+Z (Mac) to undo if needed.
Flip a single layer
Duplicate the layer: Right-click the layer → Duplicate Layer (or press Ctrl+J / Command+J).
Select the layer you want to flip in the Layers panel.
Go to Edit → Transform → Flip Horizontal (or Flip Vertical).
Create a mirror effect with a mask
Make a selection of the side you want to reveal (e.g., select the left part using a marquee or lasso tool).
With the flipped layer selected, click Add Layer Mask at the bottom of the Layers panel.
Refine the mask edges as needed to blend the mirrored side.
