Duplicate while repositioning

  • Select the Move Tool (V)

  • Hold Option to enable drag-copy

  • Click and drag the object to create and move a duplicate

  • Release to drop the copy in place

  • Rename the duplicate layer if needed

Duplicate via Layer menu

  • Select the layer in Layers

  • Layer → Duplicate Layer…

  • Enter a Name (optional)

  • Pick a destination Document (current or another open file)

  • Click OK

Duplicate via right‑click or panel menu

  • Right‑click the layer → Duplicate Layer…
