Access the Gradient Tool

  • In the toolbar, click and hold the Paint Bucket Tool.

  • Select Gradient Tool (G) from the flyout.

Configure the gradient

  • In the Options bar, choose a type: Linear, Radial, Angle, Reflected, or Diamond (use Linear to start).

  • Click the gradient preview to open the Gradient Picker and select a preset you like.

Draw the gradient

  • Click-drag on the canvas to set the gradient’s direction and length.

  • Release to apply; experiment with different drag directions to adjust the effect.
