How to Change Text Color in Photoshop

Add and size your text

  • Select the Horizontal Type Tool (T).

  • Click on the canvas and enter your text (or keep the default).

  • In the Options bar, set the size to 500 pt (adjust as needed) and position with the Move Tool (V).

Recolor the whole text via the Options bar

  • Double-click the text to highlight it.

  • In the Options bar, click the Color swatch.

  • Choose White in the Color Picker and click OK.

Recolor selected characters only

  • With the Type Tool (T), select the specific characters you want to change.

  • Click the Color swatch in the Options bar.

  • Pick a new color such as Red and click OK.

Change color using the Properties panel

  • With the Type layer active, go to Window → Properties.

  • In Properties → Character, click the Color swatch.

  • Choose a color (e.g., Orange) and click OK.
