Change Font Color in Photoshop (3 Easy Methods)
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to change the color of text in Photoshop using a few different methods. We’ll start by adding and sizing your text, then use both the Options bar and the Properties panel to recolor it. Follow along to swap colors on all or part of your text quickly.
Step-by-step instructions
Create and size your text
Select the Horizontal Type Tool (T) from the toolbar.
Click on the canvas and type your text (or keep the default placeholder text).
In the Options bar, set the font size to 500 pt (or your preferred size).
Press V to switch to the Move Tool and drag the text to center it on the canvas.
Change text color via the Options bar Color Picker
Double-click the text to select it.
In the Options bar, click the color swatch (Color).
In the Color Picker, choose White and click OK to apply the color.

Change the color of selected characters
Highlight only the characters you want to recolor with the Type Tool (T).
Click the color swatch in the Options bar.
Pick a new color (e.g., Red) and click OK to apply it to the selection.
Change text color using the Properties panel
With the Type layer selected, go to Window → Properties to open the Properties panel.
In Properties → Character, click the Color swatch.
Choose a new color (e.g., Orange) in the Color Picker and click OK.
