Step-by-step instructions

Open your base image

  • Go to File → Open.

  • Select the photo you want as your base and click Open.

  • Press Ctrl+O (Windows) or Cmd+O (Mac) to open via shortcut.

Insert another picture into the current document

  • Go to File → Place Embedded.

  • Choose the image you want to add and click Place.

  • The image appears as a new layer with transform handles.

Resize and position the inserted image

  • Hold Shift and drag a corner handle to scale proportionally.

  • Drag inside the bounding box to move the image into position.

  • Rotate if needed by moving the cursor near a corner and dragging.

Commit and save

  • Press Enter/Return or click the checkmark in the Options bar to commit the placement.

  • Go to File → Save to preserve your changes.
