Add Multiple Artboards in Photoshop

Artboards let you manage multiple canvases in a single Photoshop document. You’ll create your first artboard, add more at the sizes you need, and keep them organized for efficient design and export.

Step-by-step instructions

Create the first artboard

  • Go to File → New.

  • Enter the desired Width and Height.

  • Enable Artboards (if shown in the New Document dialog).

  • Click Create.

Add additional artboards

  • Select the Move Tool (V), then choose the Artboard Tool (nested with the Move Tool).

  • Click the + icons at any edge of an artboard to add a new one of the same size.

  • Or go to Layer → New → Artboard to create one with a specific size.

  • Alternatively, you can use File → New again to create a separate document at a different size (separate from the current artboard file).

Resize, rename, and arrange

  • With the Artboard Tool active, drag an artboard’s edges to resize as needed.

  • In the Layers panel, double-click an artboard’s name to rename it.

  • Drag artboards on the canvas to organize your layout.
