How to Add Brushes to Photoshop (2025)
Photoshop supports third‑party brushes via .abr files. After downloading a brush pack, you can load it from the Brush preset menu and it will appear alongside your existing brushes, ready to use.

Step-by-step instructions
1
Download and prepare your brush file
Download a Photoshop brush pack (.abr) from a trusted source and note its folder location.
If the download is zipped, extract it so you can access the .abr file.
2
Load the brushes into Photoshop
Select the Brush Tool (B).
Open the Brush Preset Picker in the Options bar and click the gear/settings icon.
Choose Load Brushes.
Navigate to your .abr file, select it, and click Load.
3
Use your new brushes
Scroll to the bottom of the brush list to find the newly added set.
Select a brush tip and paint on a layer to test it.
