Make Eyes Wider in Photoshop (v26+) with Liquify
This guide shows two ways to widen eyes in Photoshop: the modern Face-Aware Liquify workflow, and an optional Puppet Warp approach for older versions. Work non-destructively so you can fine-tune or revert at any time.

Step-by-step instructions
Work non-destructively
Right-click the image layer in the Layers panel.
Choose Convert to Smart Object.
Open Liquify and target the face
Go to Filter → Liquify…
Ensure the Face Tool (A) is active; Photoshop detects faces automatically.
If there are multiple faces, select the correct one from the dropdown in the Liquify panel.
Widen the eyes (Face-Aware Liquify)
Hover over the on-canvas eye handles and drag outward to increase width.
Or in the right panel, expand Eyes and increase Eye Width (Left/Right) sliders slightly.
Press P to toggle Preview and keep changes subtle.
Click OK to apply the Liquify adjustments.
Optional: Fine-tune with Puppet Warp (older versions)
Select the Lasso Tool (L) and loosely select the eye area and surrounding skin.
Press Ctrl+J / Cmd+J to copy the selection to a new layer, then right-click it → Convert to Smart Object.
Go to Edit → Puppet Warp; click to place pins around and within the eye area.
Drag pins outward to widen; hold Alt/Option and drag the circular overlay to rotate if needed, then click the checkmark to commit.
Alt/Option-click the Add Layer Mask icon to create a black mask, then paint with white on the mask to reveal only the adjusted eye.
