Set up your canvas and layer

  • File → New to create a document.

  • Paste or place your image onto the canvas.

  • Ensure the image sits on its own layer above the Background.

Enter Free Transform

  • Select the image layer.

  • Go to Edit → Free Transform (Ctrl+T).

  • Zoom out if needed to see all corner handles.

Scale proportionally from the center

  • Hold Shift+Alt (Shift+Option on Mac) and drag a corner handle to resize from the center.

  • Alternatively, hold Shift and drag a corner to resize from one side.

  • Press Enter/Return to commit the transformation.
