Make an Image Round in Photoshop (Circle Crop)
In this quick tutorial, you’ll turn any photo into a clean circular image using the Ellipse Tool and a selection. You’ll also learn how to place the round image onto a new background and save it.

Step-by-step instructions
Open and unlock your photo
Go to File → Open and select your image.
In the Layers panel, double-click Background, then click OK to unlock it (it becomes Layer 0).
Draw a perfect circle selection
Select the Ellipse Tool (U).
Hold Shift and drag to draw a perfect circle over the area you want to keep.
Right-click inside the circle → Make Selection… → set Feather Radius to 0 px → OK.
Remove everything outside the circle
Go to Select → Inverse.
In the Layers panel, select Layer 0 (your photo layer).
Go to Edit → Clear to delete the background outside the circle.
Clean up the helper shape layer
In the Layers panel, select the Ellipse 1 shape layer (used for the selection) and press Delete.
Go to Select → Deselect.

Go to File → New, choose your desired size, then click Create/OK.
Select the Move Tool (V).
Drag the circular layer from the original document into the new document canvas and position it.
