Blur a Face in Photoshop with Gaussian Blur
This quick method uses the Selection Brush to isolate a face and Gaussian Blur to obscure details. It’s ideal for privacy or creative emphasis and takes just a few clicks.

Step-by-step instructions

Select the face
Choose the Selection Brush Tool and set Mode to Add.
Set Opacity to 100% and Hardness to about 25%.
Adjust brush size and paint over the face to select it.
Hold Alt/Option to temporarily subtract if you over-select.

Apply Gaussian Blur
Go to Filter → Blur → Gaussian Blur.
Adjust Radius until the face is sufficiently blurred for your needs.
Click OK to apply the blur.
Press Ctrl/Cmd+D to deselect.
